Problem:
Using the VAMI you get the error ‘Appliance (OS) root password is expired or is going to expire soon. Please change the root password before installing an update.’
Solution:
The solution is to login to the vCenter using SSH and change the password as below:
shell.set --enable true
shell
passwd
Enter the new password and confirm.
