How can I safely delete Veeam backup files in Veeam Backup & Replication?

Problem:

1. Find the physical .vbk file and delete in Windows file explorer

2. Scan the backup repository by doing the following

Backup Infrastructure> Backup Repositories> Select Repository

3. Remove the backup files from Veeam by doing the following:

Home> Disk> Right click on job> Properties

Scroll down to deleted files

4. Right click Forget> This backup and dependent backups

5. Click Yes

6. Files are gone
