Configure Office 365 to connect Outlook to your mobile device using Microsoft Intune – Apple IOS

This is a quick guide that can be given directly to the end user in order for them to connect their Apple IOS mobile devices to Office 365.  The guide runs through how to download an configure the apps and setup Outlook.

1. The IT team should push out a wipe which will remove any existing management applications i.e. Airwatch.

2. Ensure that the wipe removed all other enterprise managed apps before moving onto the next step, if not please come and see us before proceeding to next step

3. The wipe will not delete the AirWatch Agent application, so please manually delete this

4. Open the App Store

5. Type in the search filed Intune Company Portal > Download the application

6. Open the Intune Company Portal application

7. Click Sign-in and enter your MyCompany.com email address > Click Next

8. Enter your Windows/Laptop password > Click Sign in

9. A message will pop up about Setting up com access > Click Begin

10. You will see what permissions the application will need to get you setup

11. Click Continue

12. Your web browser (Safari. will open, and it will try to redirect you to your phone’s settings > Click allow

13. In your phone settings it will show you Management Profile > Click Install in the top right-hand corner

14. Enter your phone’s passcode to confirm installation of the profile

15. Press Install

16. A warning message will appear > Click Install in the top right-hand corner

17. A Remote Management message will pop-up > Click Trust

18. Profile will install > Click Done in the top right-hand corner

19. Click Open to be redirected back to the browser

20. Click Continue

21. It will re-direct you back to your web browser > wait a few seconds and Press Install on the multiple App Installation popups that appear for the following – use Touch ID/Face ID to install the apps.

1. Skype for Business > Press Install

2. Microsoft Edge > Press Install

3. Microsoft Outlook > Press Install

22. Click Done

23. Minimise the web browser and you will see all the above app be installed

24. If you did not set ‘Required’ apps you must install them manually.  Click View.

25. Select Outlook and click Install

How to configure installed apps

Skype for Business:

  1. 1. Open Skype for Business
  2. 2. Click Allow on all the app permission pop ups
  3. 3. On the sign in screen > enter your MyCompany.com email address
  4. 4. Enter your phone number > press the blue right arrow button

Microsoft Edge:

1. Open Microsoft Edge

2. On the sign in screen > click on your MyCompany.com email address inside the blue rectangle

3. Click Not Now to not share your browsing history with Microsoft

4. Click Allow on all the app permission pop up

Outlook:

1. Open Outlook

2. You will see your MyCompany.com email address > Add Account

3. Click Let’s do it!

4. Make sure to Close Outlook on your laptop and then re-open it, on the bottom right you should see “Connected to Microsoft Exchange”

5. At least 8 hours after your initial log in to Outlook you will receive a popup windows which will prompt you to create a passcode. Please create a passcode with the following requirements:

Minimum 8 alphanumeric characters

At least 1 capital letter

At least 1 special character
