There are a number of settings for Plex Media Server that are unavailable under the Plex web console
The full list of settings is available here but below are a few that I find useful.
To make any of the settings, login as your Plex service account and go to the registry key at:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
You can then make the following changes:
autoScanMusicSections
This key will allow you to disable your automatic music library scans, great if you have a huge library. Create this as a DWORD (32-bit) Value and set it to 0.
LocalAppDataPath
My Plex app data sits on a non-standard directory so I create a String Value here and set it to D:\PLEX
TranscoderTempDirectory
I like to use a fast SSD for my Plex temp directory so create a String Value of D:\PLEXTranscodes
