Problem:
How do I publish a Remote Desktop Application?
Solution:
1. Open Server Manager> Remote Desktop Services> Collections> Select the collection> Find REMOTEAPP PROGRAMS> Click Tasks> Publish RemoteApp Programs
2. In this example we want to publish Chrome and go straight to a particular Chrome URL so select Google Chrome and click Next
3. Once published> Right click and select Edit Properties
4. Give the Chrome app a name (You can have multiple Chrome apps published)
5. Under Parameters, select Always use the following and enter the URL to the website you want the RDApp to open to
6. Go to your RDAPP URL which is https://serverfqdn_or_IP/RDWeb/Pages/en-US/login.aspx and login
7. Once logged in you can click the app and download an .rdp file which will take you right to it
Some optional additional settings you may want to set by Group Policy
These settings will:
- Exempt any extensions you need to run from a blacklist
- Use Loopback processing to ensure these settings override
- Ensure Chrome is the default webapp used
These settings will:
- Ensure you can use Azure AD SSO
- Ensure you can use your domain as a trusted Intranet site
This setting will force a particular extension to be installed for your users
